Samiya Mir

I have practiced in commercial litigation, civil litigation, and employment law since 2001. I was also a public defender at The Legal Aid Society for one year so have some criminal experience. I have also been an Arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association’s No-Fault division since 2017. Most recently, I became certified as a mediator with the New York Peace Institute. I took the basic mediation training in 2022 and took advanced commercial mediation training with NYCLA in 2023. I have also conducted mediations for Creatives Rebuilt New York, an organization that provides grants to arts organizations in New York State.

Sameer Ahmed has been a practicing attorney for 25 years, concentrating most recently in the area of business transactions and commercial litigation. About 5 years ago, Sameer completed mediation training in both civil mediations as well as family law mediations and is certified for both. Sameer is a former prosecutor and have also handled many divorces over the years. Being in private practice has exposed Sameer to many different areas of the law which helps to understand different issues that may arise during the dispute resolution process.

Reem Subei

Reem Subei is currently a senior attorney at Muslim Advocates, handling cases of discrimination nationwide. Reem is responsible for coordinating national campaigns to protect Muslims' rights and ensure their equal access. Prior to joining Muslim Advocates, Reem was a senior attorney at a public interest firm in Ohio called Advocates for Basic Legal Equality (ABLE) Reem has led major advocacy efforts in the areas of eviction defense, fair housing access, jail conditions, equity in education, and economic development. Reem has filed and defended cases in federal and state courts, including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the U.S. Department of Justice, and the U.S. Office for Civil Rights. Reem has drafted anti-discrimination laws for cities and community groups, testified about those laws, and supported community groups in devising and implementing lobbying plans for the passage of those laws.

Furqan Mohamed

Furqan I. Mohammed

Furqan I. Mohammed has been involved in Muslim initiatives since law school. Most notably, Furqan was the president of the Muslim Law Students Association, was on the board for the South Asian Bar Association (SABA) for two years (2015 and 2016), and was co-chair of the programming for the 2017 NAML conference. Furqan has also given multiple webinars, including on Islamic estate planning, the taxi industry, and topics for pre-law and law students.

Sarah El Ebiary is a Mediator based in Salem, Oregon who holds a certificate in dispute resolution from the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University School of Law. She is a licensed mediator certified by Ku’ikahi Mediation Center and trained by West Hawai’i Mediation Center as a volunteer court-appointed mediator for civil disputes. She is currently a member of Oregon Mediation Association and the Muslim Center for Dispute Resolution available for remote mediation sessions. Sarah offers over 10 years of Business Contract and Intellectual Property legal experience working in both business law firm & in-house transactional settings. As a remote Business Consultant & Legal Counsel for Companies & Entrepreneurs, Sarah performs high-quality document review, drafting, and redlining of a wide variety of documents, from initiation of negotiations through execution and performance.
