MCDR employs the highest standards of integrity and transparency in its work, and quality mediators are at the heart of MCDR’s work. MCDR is committed to offering a diverse roster of trained mediators in local jurisdictions across the United States in which disputing parties can have the utmost confidence. For this reason, we have established the following minimum qualification criteria that applicants must meet in order to be considered for acceptance to MCDR’s National Roster of Mediators.
General Experience:
For phase 1 of our Mediator Recruitment, a minimum of 5 years of legal experience as a licensed lawyer.
Non-lawyers may be considered to join the roster of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
Mediation Training & Experience:
A minimum of 24 hours of training in mediation process skills combined with service as a mediator on at least five mediation cases, in the applicant’s primary field of expertise, mediated through an ADR institution or through a court system over the last three calendar years. Applicants with informal mediation experience in matters privately arranged but not conducted under the auspices of an ADR institution or assigned through a court mediation program may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Ongoing Training & CLE:
All Mediators enrolled on MCDR’s roster must abide by the Model Standards of Conduct for Mediators and take necessary continuing legal education and mediation training required by their State of admission to Bar.
