As a first step, we invite our community partners to add the following sample clause to their respective contracts (Ex: employment agreements, vendor agreements, Nikkah forms). The sample clause(s) are not intended to provide legal advice. Please seek independent legal counsel before incorporating our sample clause(s) into your agreement.

Sample Mediation Clause:

“In the event a dispute shall arise between the parties to this contract, the parties agree to participate in mediation administered by the Muslim Center for Dispute Resolution [www.mcdrglobal.com] in accordance with its Rules and Procedures, prior to resorting to arbitration or litigation. Unless agreed otherwise, the parties agree to share equally in the costs of the mediation and meet and negotiate in good faith in order to resolve any disputes which may arise between them.”
